You Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’

Musician Phil Spector experienced a remarkable rise and a more astonishing fall. Spector was known as a visionary, creating a sound never heard before, thus enjoying fame and exorbitant wealth. However, in an interview with Telegraph magazine (2002), he indicated, "People tell me they idolize me, want to be like me. But I tell them, 'Trust me, you don't want my life'. It hasn't been a very pleasant life. I've been a very tortured soul. I have not been at peace myself." Spector, like many of us, lost that lovin’ feelin’.

Even with Biblical examples (Samson, David, Solomon, etc.) and examples like Phil Spector, we still fail to realize that a life ungrounded in Christ, our first love, will only result in sadness, loneliness, and failure.

Mathematically, it makes no sense.

The world’s equation: fame + possessions + wealth = success.

God’s plan: His purpose + Your Yes = Abundant Life.

If you’ve lost that lovin’ feelin’, I encourage you to surrender your all, allowing Him to direct your path and then be prepared to experience life exceedingly, abundantly beyond anything you could hope for or imagine. Fall in love with Jesus again. It’ll be the best thing you ever do!

Bible Verse: Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Revelation 2:4

Questions: How do you define success? Are you in love with Jesus today? If not, how can you recapture that lovin’ feelin’?
